Beatstream, born as Remco Lakwijk in 1979, witnessed the rise of housemusic in the early 90’s. He quickly developed a liking for the harder, darker releases and bought his first records not long after. From that moment on, he spent every free minute behind the decks to improve his skills. At the age of 20, he got the chance to work at an import recordstore, thus turning his big passion into his living. When Paul Elstak visited the store one day, Remco gave him a home-mixed cd, not knowing that this action would result in his first official booking: Hardcore 4 Life (2002).
That gig changed his life and kickstarted his dj-career; In the following years, he had the honour of playing at major events such as Decibel Outdoor, Nightmare in Rotterdam, Earthquake, Slaves to the Rave, Darkness4Life, Hardcore Gladiators and many more. After 5 years of full focus on his dj-work, Remco decided to take his love for hardcore the next step and expand his activities with music producion. Not much later, his first release was a fact.
As of November 2008, Beatstream is part of the Offensive-family. This gives him the possibility to combine his dj- and producer-experience and take it to a higher level. Together with Paul Elstak and fellow Offensive-member Radiate, he is responsible for the huge party-hit ‘Angels deserve to Die’. Working hard on new releases and rippin’ up dancefloors with his high energy mainstream-sets, Beatstream truely is a force to be reckoned with! Beatstream, 29 jaar geleden geboren als Remco Lakwijk, maakte net als vele anderen in de jaren 90 de opkomst van de hardcoresound mee. Zwaar onder de indruk van de dj’s en meteen gegrepen door de muziek kocht hij zijn eerste platen en leerde hij draaien. Na jaren van slaapkamersets en schoolfeestjes gaf hij uiteindelijk een mix-cd aan Paul Elstak en mocht Remco zichzelf hierna in 2002 bewijzen op Hardcore4Life.
Vanaf dat moment volgden er meer en meer boekingen, waaronder op Decibel en Nightmare in Rotterdam en werd het tijd voor de volgende muzikale stap: produceren. Zijn eerste release, overigens nog onder zijn andere alias ‘Darkvizion’, kwam in november 2007 uit en stond op veel cd-compilaties en party-dvd’s.
Sinds zijn toetreding tot het Offensive-label in november 2008 heeft Beatstream nog meer dan ooit tevoren een aantal doelen voor ogen: het produceren van knallende tracks, het dak eraf draaien op de vetste feesten en uiteindelijk....het behalen van
