Paul Elstak behoort nog steeds tot de absolute hardcore-top. Als één van de grondleggers van de hardcore is hij verantwoordelijk voor de vorming van de muziekstroming tot wat deze vandaag is, en nog elke week zet hij overal ter wereld Nederland als Hardcore-land op de kaart. In 2001 startte Paul Offensive Records, waarop in 10 jaar tijd vele hits uitkwamen. 10 jaar Offensive is niet iets om zomaar aan voorbij te gaan, tijd voor een feestje dus.
Geen betere manier om dit 10-jarige bestaan te vieren dan met een spectaculaire Offensive showcase op Nightmare, 3 december in Ahoy’ Rotterdam. Deze editie van Nightmare, een concept wat The Godfather of Hardcore overigens zelf ooit verzon, zal voor een groot deel in het teken staan van het Rotterdamse hardcore-label.
Tijdens de Offensive showcase gaan alle registers open en de decibel-meters op tilt. Paul zal het Ahoy’ zowel live als van achter de decks op zijn befaamde Offensive-sound doen trillen, hierbij bijgestaan door zijn vaste mc’s Ruffian en Firestone. Daarnaast is ook het Offensive DJ Team (Beatstream & Radiate) en Dione aangewezen om het platenlabel op Nightmare te vertegenwoordigen. De talentvolle nieuwkomers Humanity Force maken de bezetting compleet.

Beatstream, 29 jaar geleden geboren als Remco Lakwijk, gaf na jaren van slaapkamersets en schoolfeestjes een mix-cd aan Paul Elstak en mocht Remco zichzelf hierna in 2002 bewijzen op Hardcore4Life.
Vanaf dat moment volgden er meer en meer boekingen, waaronder op Decibel en Nightmare in Rotterdam en werd het tijd voor de volgende muzikale stap: produceren. Zijn eerste release, overigens nog onder zijn andere alias ‘Dark Vision', kwam in november 2007 uit en stond op veel cd-compilaties en party-dvd’s.

PAUL ELSTAK & THE NEW KIDS BIG WINNERS AT THE REMBRANDT AWARDS!
Afgelopen maandag 28 maart ontving Paul Elstak de Rembrandt Award voor beste Titelsong van de film Turbo. De track, geproduceerd door hem in samenwerking met de New Kids werd door de meeste mensen uitgekozen op de Rembrandt website en de film Turbo was de grote winnaar als beste film. Steffen van de New Kids sprak in zijn speech de legendarische woorden: ‘Dit is echt gruwelijk!’ Paul vind het winnen van deze award: ‘Een nieuwe mijlpaal in mijn carriere, ik ben hier echt heel blij mee.’
On the 28th of march dj Paul Elstak received the Rembrandt Award for best movie title song for the track Turbo. Rembrandt is a people’s choice award for the Dutch movie industrie. The track TURBO was produced by him together with the New Kids. The New Kids won the Best Movie Award for the movie TURBO so together they were the big winners of this Award show. Dj Gizmo - Ferry Salee - is in the business for over 25 year. Gizmo is a A-list and immensly experienced dj who travelled around the world many times - from Australia to USA - and played all the major events in Holland. In the late nineties and beginning of the new millenium saw Gizmo becoming a leading dj in the hardstylescene. However he soon devolped an own style combining hardstyle, jumpstyle old school, early rave and hardore.

Mark Vos a.k.a. Buzz Fuzz started his career as a House DJ in 1991 after playing Hip Hop and R&B from 1986 to 1990. In the year 1992 he won the Dutch House DJ Championships and he started producing tracks due to the fact that the first price of the championship was a release on Midtown-Records. Buzz Fuzz produced records for Combined Forces and eventually for ID&T where he began his own record label, BZRK Records.
Buzz Fuzz is part of the legendary Dreamteam (together with Gizmo, Dano and The Prophet). In 1997 and 1998 his colleagues and the readers of Thundermagazine nominated him 'Best producer' in the Hardcore scene. Also he was chosen the best record label and the best remixer of the year.
Buzz Fuzz has played all over the world like Australia, USA, Canada and of course all over Europe.

HUMAN RESOURCE INTERVIEW WITH DANCEMAGAZINE FROM FINLAND
Human Resource performed december 3 in Helsinki (Finland). Before they flew to Finland they had an interview with a dancemagazine from Finland.
1. Welcome to Finland!:) It's your first time here and we are very excited and honored to have you performing DJ set at our brand new event Hellfire Club! How you feel coming to Finland first time?
I'm honoured to come to Finland. I never been to Finland or anywhere in Scandinavia before so i really love it! Didn't knew you guys were into "our" sound.
2. You have lot of fans here in Finland and tracks like Dominator, Joke and Fuck Them were big hits here in 90's and still are today! We love old school and new stuff too. Can you tell us little bit what kind of tracks we can expect from Human Resource DJ set?
Serious? haha, never knew that those tracks did it very well in Finland.. Very awesome though!.. Well.. I'm really into the new sound now but still do a lot of Oldschool/Early sets. I think we'll try to make it a big mashup of Early vs New.. ( so i hope you guys can give us an extra hour? ;-))
3. You have had long great career and produced some of the greatest tunes in history of techno and hardcore. How you see the scene going nowadays as being one of the true pioneers behind it all?
There's a new wave of talent arriving and we'll see a lot of very good, well produced, new tracks. It's reasonably easy to make (allmost professional sounding) tracks on a laptop (everywhere you want in a train, in the park.. ). Back in the days we had to buy gear to make music and the initial investment made the threshold pretty high to start producing. Nowadays all you need is a computer and a torrent-client (or a friend willing to help) I'm still not sure if this is good or bad. Ah well.. we made dominator with about 10K worth of equipment and made dominator with it.. i guess that the studio's in that day were thinking the same as i did now. but still Your equipment was your sound. Now with DAW's and in the box summing every track has more or less the same sound and because of the systems being digital, there's no cables that can be wired in a wrong way so it will create a new sound. I guess we'll see what will happen..
4. Hoover is the king of all sounds and your legendary track "Dominator" has been copied million times by million producers, how it was in 1991 when you created something that would change the history of electronic music?
Not sure what you want mean by this question but since it's about the sound i will go deeper into that..Everyone knows by now that the sound is from the Roland Alpha Juno 2. Put a pitchenvelope on the basic sound, open the sub oscilator, and then open the incredible chorus untill the chorus sounds like an extra oscillator and bam! When we created the sound we thought it was too heavy to use and because of the pitch envelope allmost impossible to create a normal melody line with it. Then Joey Beltram's mentasm was released and we tried to find a way to use it and to play it.. I never knew that it would have an impact this big and changed my life in a way that i used to dream about. What would have happened if i stayed at home the night i met Johan and Robert at a party in Ahoy Rotterdam at the night we initially decided to do some tracks toghether? what would have happened if we hadn't gone over to the rehearsal studio (i used to rehearse with my metal band) and where we hooked up the Juno to a Marshall JCM 800 of my guitarplayer and heard the hoover-sound, roaring like a guitar, at the night we decided that we had to use it in a track? really don't know.. i guess i wouldn't be talking to you and would still be playing in a band frustrated that we never made it big and probably married with children. who knows...
5. One of the best gigs I have witnessed was your and Miss Djax's back2back set at this year's Ground Zero festival in Holland. Please tell us shortly how your collaboration together started?
thanx a lot! we were very pleased as well! I know saskia from back in 1991. She was doing the sales at IMC Distribution (who were part owner of 80Aum Records who released dominator. ) at the end of 1991 she had a fling with Robert Mahu (HR Member) It didn't last very long but i got to know her pretty well. We lost contact in 1992 and met up again in 2007. She was looking for someone who wanted to produce tracks and preferably hardstuff! So we started experimenting with Schranz/Hardtechno and 8 months later the first EP on Djax was released. It became record of the month! The second record we did, headbanging, was inspired heavily by felix Krocher's travel pussy and was record of the month as well! So after those released the collab was going very smoothly. For a live gig i put the dominator vox and sound in her ableton (for use as an intro and she said the crow responded really well. We made a track with the vocals and the sound and when she opened with it at awakenings in 2009, the crowd went nuts.. (here's a youtube vid.. sound is horrible but you will get the idea http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8x36OxYI4s&feature=related) then i wanted to push the envelope a bit further. Saskia was asked to do a gig in the paradiso, Amsterdam and i tagged along. we Linked 2 laptops with ableton via Midisync. She took care of the beats and i did melodies and vocals... That was magic! After a few gigs Multigroove asked us to do the set for Ground Zero.. And they wanted an anthem.. so we called Marc Acardipane and reworked his evergreen "Stereo Murder".... That's our collab in a nutshell.. We're still working on new stuff.. trying to find the perfect combination of both worlds...
6. Can we also expect more production with you and Rotterdam Termination Source in future?
Maybe.. Maurice and i go a long way back as well but i dont know if we will ever do tracks together. he started his own video company and produces videoclips and does that very well. We recently worked together as maurice is doing a movie about the old days called oldschool renegades and features a lot of the guys from the early days.. i saw some of the footage and it contains a lot of nice "things to know" about those days :-)

Verschillende artiesten zullen als 'Hardcore Deejays United' zelf invulling geven aan hun tijd bij de Blow Out Sale. PAUL ELSTAK MAAKT TRACK MET NEW KIDS
Paul Elstak heeft een videoclip gemaakt met de New Kids. De 'Godfather of hardcore' heeft samen met de hangjongeren uit Maaskantje het titelnummer opgenomen voor de film Turbo. "De New Kids-acteurs gaan samen met Paul Elstak terug naar de jaren negentig en zorgen met Turbo voor de comeback van de happy hardcorestijl", zegt de producent van de film. De hele soundtrack van Turbo ligt op 10 december in de schappen. De film is een dag daarvoor voor het eerst te zien in de bioscoop.De videoclip van Turbo gaat maandagavond in premičre bij De Wereld Draait Door. Paul Elstak, die in de jaren negentig hits scoorde met Luv You More en The Promised Land, speelt ook een rolletje in de clip.
Woensdag 8 december is er vanaf 21:00 een speciale voorpremičre in Pathe de Kuip te Rotterdam. De film gaat officieel 9 december in premiere maar Pathe de Kuip is de eerste in Nederland die de film aan het grote publiek gaat tonen. Dj Paul Elstak en andere bekende deejays zullen van de partij zijn.

This Dutch female DJ is born in Edam (near Amsterdam). At the age of 15 she bought her first own DJ setup, lots of vinyls and started mixing the harder styles of housemusic as DJ Marlice.
After a few months Marlies was asked by some promoters to play every wednesday in a small club in Utrecht as a resident and almost every week at another club in Holland. Before she became 16, she’d played already 2 times at the Hemkade 48 in Zaandam, for 1000 till 4000 people. Legally, she was not even able to visit the club at this age. One of the Dutch highlights is her gig at the Dutch 'Ground Zero Festival 2008' with over 25.000 people.
She got international gigs at The Streetparade in Zürich - Switzerland, Spain, Crete, France, Belgium, Germany, Bali and in 2010 she toured 6 weeks in Australia.
Marlies also plays some booming club, house and eclectic music under the name Marlicious. (party’s like Ex Porn Star, Fantasy Island, Crazyland, Happy Dayzz, and more).
Nowadays she also studies for Studio technical expert/producer at the Mediapark in Hilversum. So….beware of this young lady. We’ll keep u posted!

Roos was born 1987 in Volemdam. Her brother Sunny D played since years in the scene of harder styles and tought her the basics when she was 15.
Her first gigs were for promoter Multigroove who booked her for their events at the Hemkade (nowadays Northsea Venue) in Zaandam. Ze performed during Hellbound, Pandemonium, Buzz Fuzz goes BZRK, CSR, E-fect Outdoor, 2H4U, Paradox and Lady's Night and many other in The Netherlands. She had international gigs in England, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland.
She plays mainly mainstream hardcore and more raw hardcore. Her favourite labels are DNA, Industrial Strength and Traxtorm Records.

‘’Paul Elstak is the name – Offensive the game.’’ Sommige beweren dat hij aan de wieg stond van de hardcore. Hij heeft velen platen geproduceerd met DJ’s zoals Panic, Lars, Scott Brown, Joey Beltram, Lenny Dee, Neophyte, DJ Distortion, DJ Rob, Bass-D & King Matthew, Rotterdam Terror Corps etc. Hij brengt constant nieuwe platen uit die originaliteit ademen, hard zijn en zijn eigen stijl dragen waar hij wereldberoemd mee is geworden. Paul Elstak is een gepassioneerde DJ in de ‘scene’. Zijn meest recente projecten: De “Offensive” reeks. Een reeks van “floorkillaz” die jullie zal laten dansen totdat jullie erbij neervallen.
LARS
Lars hield altijd al van muziek, dat begon al op een jonge leeftijd. Op zijn 14e was Lars al druk bezig als DJ in lokale clubs. Hij draaide toen sets met veel hip house, house (1988-1993). Toen hij 17 was ging hij aan de slag bij Mid-Town waar hij een liefde ontwikkelde voor de hardere stijlen.
Samen met zijn vrienden Paul Elstak, Panic (Dennis Copier), Darrien Kelley en the Forze MC Irvin begonnen ze het Forze DJ Team. Dit DJ team werd één van de meest succesvolle van de jaren ’90. Op de zeldzame momenten dat het Forze team niet aan het reizen of optreden was, was Lars bezig als resident DJ in Club Semi Sec in Spijkenisse. Lars was ook een regelmatige gast DJ in de legendarische Rotterdamse club Parkzicht.
PANIC
DJ Panic is als jonge DJ begin jaren 90 begonnen met hardcore draaien op de feesten in de roemruchte Energiehal. Samen met het Forze DJ Team reisde hij de hele wereld over om het publiek te trakteren op de Rotterdamse hardcoresound. Naast het draaien is DJ Panic bekend van zijn vette hardcoreproducties. Met het alias Hard Creation scoorde hij een vette classic met het nummer “I Will Have That Power. Op menig hardcorefeest hoor je deze knaller nog voorbijkomen en zelf is DJ Panic een niet te missen dj in de hedendaagse dancescene. Panic draaide o.a. al op Mysteryland, Masters of Harcore, A Nightmare in Rotterdam, Defqon 1, Decibel Outdoor en Megarave. Tevens draait hij onder de naam Balistic (hardstyle) en Da Goodfellaz (jump). Kortom: een veelzijdige topdj die garant staat voor vette muziek!!!

Jasper heeft onder zijn artiesten naam Chrono zijn eerste plaat uitgebracht in 2005 bij Elite Hard Core, waarna er nog 2 volgde in 2006. Hierna heeft hij samen met Florian de The Sneiterheadz opgezet en gaven een aantal spectaculaire live optredens weg op o.a. RengDengDeng. Na The Sneiterheadz is Chrono verder gegaan met The Demon Dwars om te produceren en samen op te treden. Hun eerste release samen is in 2009 uitgekomen op Megarave Records.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 5 - MEGARAVE OUTDOOR FESTIVAL - HOOGVLIET (ROTTERDAM)
Op zaterdag 5 september zal er in Hoogvliet Rotterdam op een van de nieuwste festivalterreinen uit de regio het Megarave Outdoor Festival plaatsvinden! Na lang zoeken heeft Rige Entertainment eindelijk weer iets dicht bij huis gevonden wat aan de strenge eisen voor een vet buitenfeest voldoet. Het begon in 1993 met de Megarave op de Maasvlakte waar hardcore geschiedenis werd geschreven en de dj-top van Nederland vertegenwoordigd was. De coole sfeer, de bezoekers die uit hun dak waren, de vette lasershows en natuurlijk het brute geluid kan nu weer eens in vol ornaat geplaatst worden!
HET HEERLIJKE TERREIN
Megarave Outdoor zal van 12.00 tot 23.00 plaatsvinden op festival terrein de “Heerlijkheid’’ Dit evenementen- en festival terrein is speciaal gebouwd door de deelgemeente Hoogvliet om meer activiteiten in de Regio te ontplooien. Door de unieke opbouw en structuur van dit terrein zal er sowieso al een speciale sfeer bij dit evenement ontstaan. Zo is er een Villa, een strand, een groot festivalterrein en een chillout gebied met een barbecue. We zullen zorgen voor verrassende decoratie en aankleding en een sprankelende VIP. Er is nog nooit een Dance evenement op de Heerlijkheid georganiseerd dus kan er echt van een unieke ervaring gesproken worden. Ook is het openbaar vervoer goed aangesloten op dit terrein en kan je je auto makkelijk parkeren bij de metro in de buurt, vandaar uit regelt de organisatie busvervoer naar de locatie of je pakt lekker makkelijk bus 78A of 78B.
THE PARTY SPECIFICS
Speciaal voor dit evenement hebben we in de historie van Megarave lopen graven om een vette line- up neer te zetten. Natuurlijk is ook naar de toekomst gekeken zodat er voor elk wat wils is. Met name het idee dat de echte oldschool house niet vaak aan de beurt komt is er een volledige outdoor area voor deze respectvolle muziekstroom ingericht, zonder deze stroom zou er namelijk geen scene zijn. Op de outdoor mainstage hebben wij een combinatie van recente en toekomstige helden neergezet evenals een aantal legendes. Het veld zal gaan trillen zodra de speakers bassen spugen en als ’s avonds bij schemering de licht en lasershow begint is het de natuurlijk de bedoeling dat iedereen helemaal los gaat! De Villa wordt omgeturnd tot een energiehal in het klein waar je kan genieten van de beste early rave en alle bekende hardcore-klappers van de afgelopen 15 jaar. Deze hal zal met originele 1998 decormaterialen worden ingericht dus poets je Nikes en gooi die Aus even af bij de stomerij.
THE VIP IS THE PLACE TO BE!
De VIP tijdens Megarave is wederom streng gelimiteerd vanwege de unieke locatie in de villa. De Vippers genieten van een eigen unieke ruimte in de Villa waar men voor 65 euro de hele avond vrij drinken kan, ook kan men gratis gebruik maken van viptoiletten, garderobe en een speciale vipstage bij het podium. Natuurlijk krijgen alle vips een uniek t-shirt bij binnenkomst. De muziek in de VIP room wordt verzorgd door de radiojocks van Hardcoreradio en een aantal gasten. Je moet de metro van Centraal Station Rotterdam richting Spijkenisse nemen en uitstappen bij station Poortugaal, vanaf daar is het direct linksaf (ongeveer 7 minuten lopen), Het Rige gebouw is tegenover het TNT kantoor langs de metrobaan tussen station Poortugaal en Rhoon. ROTTERDAM TERROR CORPS DUBBEL DVD GIFTBOX (LIMITED EDITION)
Vanaf 1993 is Rotterdam Terror Corps een van de langst lopende succesvolle hardcore liveacts met optredens over de gehele wereld. Dj Distortion, mc Raw, mc Rtsier en alle danseressen zijn de afgelopen jaren gevolgd door diverse cameraploegen en natuurlijk hun eigen camera’s met als gevolg 2 vette dvd’s van anderhalf uur.
Dvd 1 is ‘Our Legacy’ een in documentaire vorm gefilmde film waarin eigenlijk uitgelegd wordt waar RTC voor staat en wat het voor anderen betekend. Dvd 2 is de ‘World Wide Tour’ op deze disc staan alle hoogtepunten en alle maffe, sexy kleedkamer- en hotel toestanden die zich door de jaren heen hebben afgespeeld. Landen als Duitsland, Italië, Spanje, Zwitserland, de Verenigde Staten en ook Nederland en vele andere naties zijn op deze dvd vertegenwoordigd.

Happy hardcore revival with Shaydie!!! Shaydie, the famous face next to dj Paul Elstak, enchanted the audience in the nineties. They scored hits like Life’s Like A Dance, Rainbow In The Sky and Luv U More.
Shaydie is back and will bring you back to the good old happy hardcore days with a 30 minute energenic show. The kick off will be september 6 with Paul Elstak during the 100 years anniversary of Feyenoord in De Kuip in Rotterdam.
Besides her gigs with 1 mc and 2 dancers she is working on a new single.
Shaydie is available as live act but also available together with a dj set by Paul Elstak!!!

Years before the Italians Sergia and Flavio met in 2006, Sergio made several productions with his pc and Flavio worked a lot with turntables. They have the same ideas about electronic music and started The Genesis Projection
Their first release was on G-net (Italian label). They had a special release on Megarave Records (MRVSP1)
The have special performance : it’s a mixture of a normal dj set and performing live with the computer.

June 21st 2008 dj D and Kasparov (live) performed in Brisbane (Australia)
Comment by Kasparov : June 18th I headed to Australia for a Kasparov Live Set in Brisbane Australia. It was my first time down-under and had no expectations at all. After a long long flight of 21 flight and traveling for 36 hours total I arrived in Brisbane. Saturday the 21th I first had an autograph session at the location. This was really cool as I found that many hardcore-lovers came to say hello. The crowd responded great on my halfhour kasparov-pounding set and after the set I had to sign at least 60 kasparov records. Its so cool to c people on the other side of the world enjoying your music! The trip was amazing!

The people from regional broadcaster "Omroep Flevoland" have made a small portrait of Dj Dione,which was broadcasted on the 13th of May 2008.
It's all in Dutch, but it contains some nice footage from the last "Nightmare" party in Ahoy,Rotterdam (Holland). For the rest he was filmed in his studio, in the club where he started playing and on his way to the party. The duration is about 10 minutes long and and, ofcourse, contains some music from Dione.
